Development comes easy to some but less easy to others. Given thought we are aware that developing and growing are essential elements of improving our lives. But how? At times we do question ourselves and ponder and wonder. We think and are thoughtful about our lot in life. What we are doing. What we are involved in. What direction our life is going in.

As we read we can let the words gently flow over us. We can let the words quietly be spoken to us in there own sweet way. We can let ourselves open to the thoughts and their meanings, the ideas and their origin, the phrases and the understandings that they have ready for us. Ready for us to assimilate and take on board. If we let them filter through and allow the words their power to move and rejuvenate. If we let ourselves be uplifted and filled with their sometimes hidden insights. Too gently and slowly to impact on our lives as we read - and in the future when we recall their meaning for us.

I hope this page will do this and more. I hope this example will help to express life in an insightful, penetrating but easy to read manner. And help us to question the lives we lead and the manner in which we live them.

Development is what we are after
what it does is to make us the more abler
to appreciate and benefit from this wonderful gift
to enjoy, to ponder, to wonder, and by no means feel adrift

Of what is happening during our three score and ten
to get to the bottom of things and come back again
to the knowledge that what we have is precious and true,
to do our best in life and to grow and develop is what we must do.

But in what directions should we be putting our effort in
lest we find ourselves wanting and moved to try a bit more gin
rather than face realities and what is before our very eyes
that we are beautiful and our life is full of surprise

That we can take advantage of if we keep on our toes
and feel comfortable in our own skin as if it were clothes
that fit us and keep us warm and ready for all
that life has to offer - oh, is this life not a ball?

To expand our horizons is part of life's game
it goes along with our instincts from which we can claim
to find out about ourselves in every which way we can
the ins and outs of this life - can we become a fan

Of life and its ways and help ourselves to evolve
any problems, situations or tensions we aim to resolve
by dint of honest effort and our heart in the right place
this will enable us to see and feel life's good grace

Which can set us apart from troubles and ills
if we appreciate our talents, strengths and skills
that we have been granted in this life to use
for everyone's advantage - but never to abuse

Our place or our trust in this life's grand design
for us and our ways if we only could only consign
our negative thoughts and affairs to nature's dustbin
and give us a peaceful break from all of the din

That we can hear about us and it can us throw
into turmoil and confusion by putting our life in limbo
and away from the real action for us to see
right at home, inside of us where it lies quietly

Waiting and abiding its time and in its place
looking for us to really join the human race
by growing and developing at our own pace
accepting gifts and life's wonders with equal good grace

And using them to help us spring off the board
into the unknown of each day and ready to strike a chord
with life and our breath which comes at each moment
if ever it missed a beat we would soon realize its lack of movement

And panic and rush both this way and that
as long as breath breathed in us to life's format
which allows us to experience much and feel satisfied
that life has much to offer us and we can provide

The faith and the will to always do our best
after which we can sit back and feel possessed
by life's rich warmth and its glowing light
if we look within and about us it is such a sight

That can behold us at every moment and two
we need just follow our path and make any breakthrough
that is necessary for us to grow and progress
and feel the wind of life remove all of our stress

That we may sit at the end of the day
having let life unfold and unravel in its own special way
and be grateful and thankful for any of our advances
that our development allows us and charges

Us with the responsibility to do our level best
to help others before ourselves and not to rest
until we have reached our full potential and allowed it to manifest
by our development we can see life's graces and wonders at their very best.
