From my notebooks:

The following are taken from my notebooks. They will I hope complement the quotations given above as well as reveal a little more about my life and my thinking about life.

Some are idle thoughts and comments on life and the life we lead. Others could one day be developed further into articles or reports. I feel that they are related to the 'self development quotes' theme.

Self development quotes - from my notebooks

Resolve to turn your life around. Be thorough and taste success. Recognise the level of commitment required.

Rush, rush, rush. Rushing around and about in our daily life. Getting there as quick as possible. A short cut saving time, getting there first. Is it all worth it?

What is important to you?

What skills do we have? Do we view them as skills? Do we use them to best advantage? Courage, determination, loyalty and integrity. Finding the best way to solve problems. Find a way, never give in. Strength of purpose and the ability to adapt. Keep on keeping on.

Plant a seed. Let it grow, don't keep tampering. Give the weather, soil, rain, nature, a chance, and watch it grow. Marvel and wonder at the magnificence.

Not time for yourself. Make time for yourself. Make time for others. Make time for the important things.

Sharing is a learning thing.

It's never too late to change.

Develop imagination. Be flexible in your outlook.

Beauty is on the inside. The outer packaging is all well and good, but that which is within is ours, our precious cargo. Our precious life - not to be squandered but appreciated.

The sea, a lake. Have you ever dived in? It's all a different world down there. The same within you - dive within and explore your inner self, too.

One can hate the things one fears.

Unlock your potential. One of life's major challenges. Day to day life can push us off course or occupy us so that we forget our goals, our aims. Equally we can hide our strengths. These should be developed, weaknesses should be nurtured, no need to try to eradicate them.

The great divide - you and yourself. It can seem that way at times. We mend bridges with others who we are close to and love. Let's not forget ourselves, for we are in need of that love, too.

Live up to your ideals. If they are worthy ideals then they are worth some extra effort from us to achieve and surpass them.

Don't get too analytical. It will add to our downfall. It takes up so much energy and resource in trying to work everything out. It can be the end (not literally) of feeling and instincts in the jungle of thought processes and analytical analysis and assessment. Such a state can take over and all sense of our inner self will be lost. Theories about life are all well and good but life is definitely for the living, and that is where the true arena lies.
