Self discipline quotes - from my notebooks

Self sufficiency is so important. An element of life, and in our life. Meeting things head on, resolving things, having confidence in our self. Having the belief and receiving the power to achieve.

Challenges - to get the most out of ourselves, and try to help others do the same.

An act of surrender and acceptance opens new doors of experience, inner movement and understanding.

Keep up your efforts, sustain them and don't drop off asleep in the moment of action. It will pay dividends. If you're low put the brakes on, and sort yourself out, and mean it. Let the real you come out. Take on your responsibilities. This takes a little thought and effort. But it goes such a long way.

Find your way to serve life - for others and yourself. Find the support and strength in you to meet and tackle challenges.

Value your achievements. Put your effort in, conquer your phobias, challenges and choose the life you want.

With support you can tackle challenges. Don't feel that you are on your own. Help is available, often from unexpected quarters. Don't be afraid to either ask or accept such help. And treat others with the same deference - and in the same way.

Look inside. Discard the packaging. What is within is what you've been waiting for. It is what you strive for. Have you paid the price for what you have inside you?

Don't underestimate yourself, or overestimate others, thinking that they do everything and you can't do anything.

Make the most of your luck, near misses and flukes.

Don't take things so personally. Step back. See things for what they are. Realise that not everything is down to you. Have faith and confidence in yourself. Believe you can make a difference. Learn to contribute not dominate. Make a contribution you can be proud of.

In the same way brickwork flakes away and trees deteriorate through the effects of clinging ivy, so can a human being be affected by the vagaries of life. Less than useful things that cling to us, or that we cling to, can have the same and potentially harmful effects.
